NET/HOBET Test Information

The Nurse Entrance Test (NET/HOBET) is a proven diagnostic test that assists nursing education programs in evaluating both academic and social skills of Nursing Program applicants. At Chattanooga State, the NET/HOBET test provides a common basis for the evaluation of academic abilities of individuals interested in the associate degree registered nursing program. The NET/HOBET score is factored into the selection point system.

Since the NET/HOBET Test is a test of general knowledge, it is difficult to “study” for the test. Activities that might help include:

How to Interpret NET/HOBET Test Results

Your scores will be displayed in percentages (%). The important ones in the selection process are Essential Math Skills, Reading Comprehension and Your Composite Percentage. For details concerning minimum scores to be included in the applicant pool, see Points Calculation Sheet. The other scores on your report will provide additional information that will be useful once you are accepted into the other program.
