Fire science students complete their degree through online learning. After completing general education and technical core courses, students complete courses in one or more of these three areas of concentration: Fire Suppression, Emergency Service Supervision & Administration (ESSA), Emergency Medical Care (EMC).
Graduates go on to become fire fighters, fire investigators and other fire prevention personnel. Additional training can be obtained through the National Fire Academy. Much of the training at the Fire Academy may be used towards a fire science degree at Chattanooga State.
