Admissions
- Qualified sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be recommended by high school principal, teacher, and/or counselor.
- ACT score must be greater than or equal to 19 composite.
- Student needs to demonstrate the maturity to cope with the freedom of a college campus.
- Applications are available from the Middle College Office, and Online. (see below)
- Students will withdraw from their zoned high school and enroll at MCHS.
- Students who attend MCHS are responsible for their own transportation.
- An interview with the principal is required prior to acceptance.
Steps for Admission
Step 1:
- Take the ACT test - Students can sign up to take the ACT at their current high school. (See your school counselor for test dates and deadlines for signing up for the test.) Or take the Residual ACT at Chattanooga State. The Residual is given every Thursday at 11:30 am in the testing center. Student will need an admission slip from the Middle College office.
Step 2:
- Complete the MCHS application -
The application packet consist of:
- The MCHS application
- Recommendation forms (2)
- High school transcript request
- Parent_Student Agreement
- Copy of ACT Scores
Step 3:
- Complete Dual Enrollment Scholarship Application - Juniors and Seniors only
Step 4:
- Schedule an Interview - Parents and student will be interviewed
