Closed Circuit TV is a way
Chattanooga State can share its library of over 5,000 tapes with
its students and faculty on over 150 monitors across the campus.
Through the use of 20 channels dedicated to Closed Circuit, 20
different tapes can be shown at the same time. The Closed
Circuit operator can simultaneously monitor all 20 Channels at
the same time. Closed Circuit TV is staffed solely by student
workers and is operational during Fall, Spring and Summer
semesters from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday
and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Friday; 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday.
Media Services is closed on Sundays. Closed Circuit TV is
usually unavailable during scheduled College breaks and between
semesters for the purpose of maintenance.

For anyone wishing to view a tape over Closed Circuit TV, they
must obtain the number from his/her instructor or it can be
found in a video catalog located at the reference desk in the
library or in the office of Media Services. In each classroom
there is a closed circuit phone. Pick up the phone, tell the
person answering the VT number of the tape you want played and
they will tell you on which channel to tune the TV. Please keep
in mind that the phone in the classroom rings only the phone in
the tape room.
Sometimes staff will bring videotapes to the Media Services
Department so they can be shown to a class over the CCTV. If the
normal copyright restrictions apply, this is illegal and Media
Services will not play these tapes over the CCTV. Please read
about copyright restrictions.
