William Pitt Root
Poet and fiction writer William Pitt Root's White Boots: New & Selected Poems of the West is due out; The Storm and Other Poems, (originally nominated for Pulitzer and Lamont prizes) joined Carnegie Mellon’s Classic Contemporary series in 2005. Trace Elements from a Recurring Kingdom: The First Five Books was listed by The Nation as a Notable Book. He has been a US/UK Exchange Artist, fellow of the Rockefeller and Guggenheim Foundations, Stanford University, and the NEA, and read in Italy, England, Sweden, and Macedonia, and the Prague Summer Workshops. His work has appeared in a score of languages.
