Pre-Pharmacy

Chattanooga State offers courses that will fulfill many, and in some cases all, of the prerequisites required by various schools of pharmacy. Typically, all pharmacy schools require two years of chemistry (General and Organic Chemistry), a year of biology, and at least one semester of physics, among other prerequisites. It is important that a student begin the chemistry requirements promptly as the four semesters must be taken sequentially.

Links to all schools having accredited pharmacy programs can be found at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Web site.. Prerequisite requirements are similar for each school, but each school is somewhat different. These requirements can be found on each website - usually under an admissions tab. Students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy should consult with Dr Nancy Watts, Director of the Pre-Pharmacy Program.
