FIRST SEMESTER:
The first semester is focused on the basics of
bodywork. Major topics covered would include Swedish Massage, Anatomy and
Physiology, Ethics, Kinesiology, Self Care, and Medical Terminology.
SECOND SEMESTER:
This semester is expands upon the first
semester into new modalities (e.g. Geriatric Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Seated
Massage, Hydrotherapy, Spa Therapy, Energy Bodywork and Medical Massage) and
more detailed training in Breathwork, SOAP Charting, Massage Regulations,
Pathology, Pharmacology, Insurance, and Business. It is in this quarter that the
student begins to work on the public in the Student Relaxation Clinic under the
direct supervision and observation of a licensed massage therapist.
THIRD SEMESTER:
More advanced training and specialty certification in
Medical Massage is the focus for this semester. Topics include: Lymphatic
Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Rehabilitative Bodywork, Sports Massage,
Myofascial Therapy, Lymphatic Massage, Deep Tissue Modalities and Licensing. The
student works on the public in the Student Therapeutic Clinic under the direct
supervision and observation of a licensed massage therapist.
