The Business System Technology program is designed to develop the skills necessary for entry level employment in the office of the 21st Century. While traditional office skills are still needed, there is an increasing need for office professionals who demonstrate proper office decorum and have expertise in various software applications. Students entering this program can expect to receive training in the use of equipment similar to that found in today's business office, and software programs such as: Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher. Students interested in working in an office will receive the skills necessary to apply for the following entry level positions: Data Entry Specialist, Payroll Clerk, Receptionist/Customer Service Representative, Accounting Clerk, Information Processor, Computer Operator, Clerk typist, Data Base Manager, Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant. Each phase of the Business Systems Technology Program is carefully structured to provide extensive "hands on" instruction. The program is also self-paced, allowing every student to reach maximum skill level regardless of previous office training experience.
