Establish a Scholarship at Chattanooga State

There are a number of ways to establish a scholarship:

An Endowed Scholarship

An endowed scholarship is placed in the Chattanooga State Foundation account and the income from the investment is used according to the criteria of the scholarship. This type of scholarship can be created in one donation or a number of donations to build the endowment. Please contact our office to find out more about establishing an endowed scholarship. You can call   423-697-2630, or via email at holly.reeve@chattanoogastate.edu.

An Annual Scholarship

An annual scholarship is maintained through money donated on an annual basis by the group that establishes it. Award amounts are determined by annual funds received from the donor(s).

Specific Criteria

Criteria for your scholarship is determined by the person or group establishing the scholarship. Examples of scholarship criteria include a specific major, a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) or the applicant's residency in a specific county in Tennessee. Other criteria might require a letter be written by the applicant specifying personal desire to major in a particular subject. The Chattanooga State Development Office can advise you on particular scholarship criteria.

Amount

The amount of your donation is totally dependent on what you want to accomplish with the scholarship. Some scholarships cover tuition, books and miscellaneous expenses. Others are set up to pay only a portion of the tuition for the recipient.
