Reading & Writing Center Logo.The College Reading & Writing Center provides instructional support in reading, writing, and oral communication across the curriculum to all Chattanooga State students in their educational endeavors while assisting faculty by offering tutorial assistance and supplemental materials to support classroom instruction.

 Chattanooga State Reading and Writing Center Rules

  1. Sign in and show your Chattanooga State ID at the front desk.
  2. The computers are for academic use only. Visit personal sites (such as Facebook) somewhere else. Pornographic sites are expressly forbidden.
  3. Administrators, faculty members, and CRWC staff members make the ultimate decisions about what is and is not allowed on the computer screen and in the center. Be respectful to CRWC personnel.
  4. Be respectful to other students. Keep conversations quiet. Set cell phones on vibrate and use cell phones outside.
  5. When using headphones, be sure the sounds cannot be heard by anyone other than you.
  6. There is no student printer in the CRWC. Students seeking to print documents should go downstairs to the Library.
  7. Save your work early and as often as possible. If you are unsure of how to do this, please ask.
  8. Food and drink should be kept away from the computers. Only bottles with lids are allowed in the lab area.
  9. Plagiarism will not be tolerated in the CRWC.
  10. When leaving the CRWC, be sure to remove all memory devices from computers, check for all books or other materials, and sign out at the front desk.

Notice to students from the Vice President of Academic Affairs: A grade of "C" or better is required in all prerequisite courses and in specific courses listed in the program summary of required hours.
