TRAINING OPPORTUNITY TO START A NEW CAREER IN JUST SIX MONTHS

By 2015, physicians and other healthcare providers will be required to have electronic health records (EHRs).   The work required to reach this goal is expected to create a high demand for six workforce roles as health information professionals.

Chattanooga State Community College is offering training for the six HITECH workforce roles.

This intense training is an online, non-credit program that is completed within six months and will require access to a computer. To be eligible to enroll in the program, an applicant must have education or experience as a healthcare professional or an information technology professional. A student must apply for a specific workforce role and will be accepted if he/she meets the admission requirements and has basic computer skills.

The cost of training for one workforce role is a $25 non-refundable processing fee. This includes course materials and access to all needed information.  It does not include a computer or Internet access.
