Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) is the process of testing and evaluating to ensure the reliability of a product. Quality Assurance involves following procedures written to ensure that manufacturing and or maintenance is adequate for the proper operation of a system. Quality Control involves following procedures written to evaluate a work product. QA/QC is vital for constructing and maintaining all types of components and structures.
Upon successful completion of the A.A.S. in Engineering Technology – QA/QC Technology concentration, graduates will possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to make an intelligent entry into the power producing, construction, and manufacturing industries. Outcomes will include the ability and knowledge to evaluate mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and concrete for defects according to ANSI N45.2 standards. Students will train in the theory of QA/QC methods of measurement, in addition to spending quality time working in fully-equipped labs. Training will include hands-on labs with tools and equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
