Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technology

Certificate Overview

The intent of the CAD Technical Certificate of Credit program is to prepare students for the workplace as CAD Drafters and Designers and upgrade the CAD skills of working architects, engineers, drafters, and designers. Upon completion of the courses in the CAD Technical Certificate program, graduates will have developed advanced CAD drafting and design skills using AutoCAD and a specialty software package from their choice of electronics, mechanical design, architectural design, civil design, or graphics programming.

Admission Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A potential student must be college level in reading, writing, and mathematics. If a student is not college level, then the appropriate transitional courses must be taken first. ACT or COMPASS test scores determine which transitional courses must be taken. However, the first CAD course, DD 114 can be completed as a special student.
