The field of Industrial Technology involves the application of specific technologies to engineering systems or manufacturing processes. The Industrial Technology concentration is specifically designed for students holding prior learning credentials in the following areas:
A Tennessee Technology Center diploma in an industrial area
A certificate of completion from a Joint Apprenticeship Training Program approved by the U. S. Department of Labor requiring at least 1,290 clock hours in a technical area (IBEW, Plumbers & Pipefitters, Ironworkers, Boilermakers, etc.), or
Students holding technical American Council on Education credit for educational experiences while serving in the armed services.
Students are awarded up to 23 hours of Practicum credit for prior learning experiences. Through the Industrial Technology concentration, the student will work with the Chattanooga State faculty to design a program of study to enhance his/her technical skills in a desired career direction while completing the Engineering Systems Technology associate degree program.
