Policy & Registration Information

Before registering for a course, be sure to carefully review the Registration Policies listed below.

Payment Policies

I/We understand that in the event the services of a collection agency or an attorney are required in order to collect an unpaid balance, I/we shall be responsible for payment of applicable collection costs.

Refunds

The following refund policy applies to all classes offered though Chattanooga State's Continuing Education Department.

  • To cancel a registration and receive a 100% refund, please notify the Continuing Education Department at least 48 hours prior to the beginning of the first class. To cancel, please call 423-697-3100, e-mail continuinged@chattanoogastate.edu or write to Chattanooga State, Continuing Education Department, 4501 Amnicola Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37406.
  • To cancel a registration and receive a 75% refund, please notify the Continuing Education Department before the beginning of the second class session. Regardless of whether or not an individual attended the first class, only a 75% refund will be provided after the conclusion of the first class and prior to the beginning of the second class session.
  • No refunds will be awarded after the second class.
  • A full refund is provided for classes which are canceled by Chattanooga State.

Class Changes and Cancellations

Chattanooga State reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or combine classes because of insufficient enrollment. Chattanooga State reserves the right to limit registration, change instructors, or make other changes as necessary.

Inclement Weather

When severe weather creates a concern for the safety of students, faculty, and staff, Chattanooga State utilizes local radio and television stations to publicly announce the status of the campus operations and to cancel classes.

Special Accommodations

Individuals who require assistance under the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the Continuing Education Department at 423-697-3100 to discuss accommodations. Requests for accommodations should be made five working days prior to the first class.

Attend with a Friend (AWF)

The letters AWF designate courses for which Chattanooga State offers a discount when two or more individuals register for the same class and submit their registrations together. Each person receives a reduced registration fee. However if one individual requests a refund, the refund provided will be reduced so that the remaining individual's enrollment is a fully paid enrollment.

Wait List Courses

These courses require a minimum number of students to register prior to the course being scheduled and offered. Individuals interested in placing their names on the wait list or needing more information about wait list courses should contact the Continuing Education Department at 423-697-3100.

M-Monday T-Tuesday W-Wednesday R-Thursday F-Friday S-Saturday U-Sunday s/c - single or couple

No refunds issued for classes meeting one to two times if refund not requested following policy time frame.
