Clubs

The Veterinary Technology Club is a student chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). Club members participate in a variety of events ranging from campus-wide fund raisers during Mardi Gras and Oktoberfest to public awareness campaigns for National Veterinary Technician Week and World Rabies Day. Money raised helps defray student expenses for attendance at a national veterinary medical conference where students are able to network with world-renown veterinarians, veterinary technicians, prospective employers and other students from across the world.

AGC of East Tennessee is a trade association whose membership is comprised of general contractors, construction managers, specialty contractors, service provider and supplier companies supporting Tennessee’s commercial construction industry. Since 1920 collectively, we bring a strong, influential and single voice to the industry. We operate in partnership with AGC of America (AGCA) to deliver quality services, leadership and expertise to you.

The Spanish Club actively supports the Latino community in cooperation with organizations like La Plaza Comunitaria and La Paz by gathering food and other activities. In addition to participating in a variety of campus activities, the club sponsors a monthly Spanish film series and meets at local Mexican restaurants for a Conversation Table

SME is the premier source for manufacturing knowledge, education and networking. Through its many programs, events, magazines, publications and online training division, Tooling U, SME connects manufacturing practitioners to each other, to the latest technologies and to the most up-to-date manufacturing processes. SME has members around the world and is supported by a network of chapters and technical communities. A 501(c)3 organization, SME is a leader in manufacturing workforce development issues, working with industry, academic and government partners to support the current and future skilled workforce.

The Paralegal club promotes professionalism in its major. The club sponsors speaker events that include judges, local attorneys and members of the Tennessee Paralegal Association, Southeast Chapter. The Paralegal Club is the most active student organization with the campus SGA (Student Government Association).

The Music Club is a group of Chattanooga State students who share a love of all kinds of music, with a special passion for classical, jazz, and theatre music. The group meets bi-weekly and participates and organizes a variety of events, including campus-wide student life activities, outreach concerts, opera nights, and excursions to professional music performances. Most recently, the group traveled together to see the opera La Traviata performed by the Atlanta Opera. Students do not need to be music majors to be a part of this energetic and exciting club.

The Media Club is an organization for Chattanooga State Media Technology students and other students to be involved in campus activities through media. Our mission is to provide opportunities to learn about the media, to educate others through media, to help our campus and community utilize all forms of media (Television, Radio, Film, Internet, Print, and Social Media), and to have fun. Membership is open to any student of any major. We are involved in local film and television productions, the Broad Street Film Festival each Spring, and various projects throughout the year.

The French Club enthusiastically takes part in activities on campus. Along with viewing French language films, the club hosts an annual picnic at the River Walk. Membership is open to all Chattanooga State students regardless of whether they are enrolled in foreign language classes or not.
