The new Center for Business, Industry and Health
(CBIH) is a two-story 67,000 square foot facility located on a
20-acre property originally owned by Olan Mills that is now part
of the Chattanooga State campus on Amnicola Highway. The
property comprises 20 percent of the total campus acreage and
has a beautiful reflecting pond in front of the Center.
Several administrative and academic offices occupy the CBIH: the
President’s Office, the VP for
Economic and Community Development,
Community Education,
the Nursing Department, Marketing,
Telecounseling Center,
Institutional Research, Leadership
and Fund Development, Chattanooga State Foundation Board
Room, and the Human
Resources Department. The
Nursing Department has over 250 day and evening students in
nursing courses taught in high-tech media classrooms throughout
the first floor of the building.
Community Education
has comfortable classrooms and computer labs for training
business and industry personnel in the latest computer
technologies, business practices, and human management
techniques.
So that students, faculty, and staff have access to all of the
buildings and services on campus, there is a shuttle running
between the CBIH and the main campus every 15 minutes Monday
through Friday.
