Cooperative Education/Internship

If a student is currently working in a job within their field of study, credit hours can be earned.  Assistance can also be provided in obtaining an internship in a field of study.

Prerequisite

Sophomore standing or by permission of instructor. GRADE POINT AVERAGE MUST BE 2.5 OR GREATER TO QUALIFY.

Course Objective

The Cooperative Education/Internship experience provides students with the opportunity to work for a business that is specifically related to his/her career objective, and promotes marketability upon graduation. Provides on-the-job experience. Not repeatable for credit.

1. Employment Information Report containing information on your work site: Name, Address, and Telephone and Fax numbers and E-mail address, if appropriate, of Employer, Supervisor's name and title; your title, work hours and basic duties.

2. Management Styles

3. Career Readiness: Interview Skills, Resume Writing, Networking, Dress to Impress, Job Search, and Mock Interview

4. E-portfolio

5. Organizational Charts/Company Structure

6. Job Descriptions

7. Workplace Issues
