Athletic Mission Statement

Chattanooga State Tigers Logo It is the mission of the Chattanooga State Athletic Department to provide programs and leadership that will enhance the physical, intellectual, social and moral development of each student-athlete. We believe that a personalized, disciplined approach to athletic, academic and personal endeavors is paramount to assure the success of each student-athlete in sports competition, in the classroom and in larger life. To this end, the Athletic Department actively helps participants make mature decisions and good life choices and helps them along their way through a mandatory study hall program, individual mentoring, and many support service programs.

A total of thirteen athletic administrators, coaches and assistant coaches constitute an overall department that demands excellence. Winning on the field and on the court is obviously a priority at Chattanooga State, but more importantly, we want each of our student-athletes to become a winner in life. First and foremost, all of our coaches are educators who demand personal accountability and effort from their players in all of their pursuits.

Chattanooga State fields teams in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and softball that compete in NJCAA Division I athletics. The College has compiled records of success that rate all of our programs among the national elite. We are committed to continuing our winning tradition and fully expect to remain one of the premier community college programs. As a measure of dedication to intercollegiate athletics, we are enhancing our campus facilities (new basketball floor, new baseball/softball field house, etc.) to provide first-rate venues that will rival those of much larger four-year universities.
