Mission Statement

It is the philosophy of the Chattanooga State Athletic Department to provide programs and leadership that will enhance the physical, intellectual, social and moral development of each student athlete.  It is recognized that a disciplined approach to athletic, academic and personal endeavors is paramount to the ability of the student- athlete to achieve success.

Under the direction of Athletic Director Steve Jaecks, Assistant Athletic Director Beth Keylon-Randolph and Director of Student-Athlete Success, Kim Smith, support for student athletes and coaches alike enhances the ability for success in the classroom and on the field of play.

Student athletes are provided the opportunity to make choices in determining their success by participating in the mandatory study hall program and choosing to be involved with one of the many support service programs.

Athletic administrators, coaches and assistant coaches number 13 and make up a department that demands excellence. While winning on the field and court is vital to the success of the program of more importance is that each athlete becomes a winner in life.

Chattanooga State provides Division I competition in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and fast pitch softball and play on very nice facilities located on the campus.

The success of each sport is directly related to the fine coaching staff that has been assembled for each activity.  While coaches are coaches they also must be educators who demand excellence.  Chattanooga State provides coaches who require accountability from each student athlete.
