It says a lot about a program when it goes out and has a 37 win season and it is considered a "bit" of a disappointment, but the 2008 season was in many ways for the Tigers.  The Tigers finished 4th in the conference with an overall record of 37-19.  The season was marked with many highlights as the talented Tigers just couldn't seem to put it all together for an extended period of time.  The Tigers had a couple of 10 game winning streaks but never seemed to hit on all cylinders for long.

Many players had outstanding seasons as Sophomore Beau Geren was named first team All Conference/All Region and also All District as he put together a wonderful season on his way to signing with the University of Central Arkansas.  Sophomore Lee Henry also had a superb season pitching both out of the bullpen and starting.  Lee also garnered All Conference merits as he prepared himself to continue pitching at Tennessee Tech University.  Sophomore Heath Cheverton will be taking his shortstop skills along with Henry to Tennessee Tech.  Heath had a superb season both in the field and at the plate.  Sophomore Coty Green had a super season pitching again and has signed at University of Tennessee-Martin.  He will be sorely missed.  Pat Jones will be following Green along to UT-M.  A few others who committed to 4-year programs were Bren Schuehler ( Univ. of Central Arkansas ), Chad Reeves ( West Georgia University ), Charles Fowlkes ( Lambuth University ), and Bradden Scott ( West Georgia University ).

The rising sophomore class looks to be a good one as Jeremy Fitzgerald ( Utl. ) comes off of a All Conference season and is joined by Aaron Short ( C ), Dexter Scudgins ( 1B/C ), Edwin Borbon ( OF ), Garret Burgess ( 3B/OF ), Ryan Williams ( OF ), Dane Anderson ( P ), Corey Davidson ( P ), Lewis Dortch ( P ), and Brian Satterfield ( P ).  These guys will be welcoming in another outstanding recruiting class.
