Admission and Selection Process

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Program uses an objective point system to select each class. Please review the points calculation summary worksheet detailing the admission/selection process. In addition to admission to Chattanooga State, prospective students must also follow these steps to apply for admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant program:

  1. Submit an Allied Health Application form
  2. Submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended to the Allied Health Applications Coordinator. Please do not ask the Chattanooga State Admission Office to forward a copy of your transcript to Allied Health.(Transcript Request form)
  3. Register to take the TEAS:
    TEAS Registration form
    TEAS Information Sheet
    TEAS Interpretation Sheet
  4. Complete 16 hours of clinical observation. (Clinical Observation form)
  5. Submit two recommendations. (Recommendation form)
The deadline for priority consideration for this program is the first Monday in March of each year. Please plan to attend an information session to learn more about the PTA program. For other information contact the Allied Health Division office (423) 697-4450.
