Admission Information

After meeting the requirements for admission to Chattanooga State, a student seeking admission to the Health Information Management program must also have completed high school or have a GED, and complete the following:

  1. Read the Admission Checklist in the program brochure
  2. Complete all required transitional studies classes prior to enrolling in the Health Information Management program. Placement in transitional studies courses is based on your ACT/SAT scores or your COMPASS Placement scores.
  3. Submit the following items to the Allied Health Applications Coordinator in one packet: the Allied Health Application, official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Please do not ask the Chattanooga State Admission Office to forward a copy of your transcript to Allied Health. (Transcript Request form)
  4. Take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). Click here for information about TEAS.
  5. Participate in a personal academic planning session with the Allied Health Advisor or a program faculty member.
