A dental hygienist is an oral health professional who is trained to provide comprehensive preventive dental health services to the public. Included in these services are examination of oral and facial structures, removing stains and deposits from the teeth, root planning, exposing and processing dental radiographs, applying decay-preventive agents and preparing clinical and laboratory diagnostic tests used by the dentist to provide quality patient care.

Since 1978, over 500 dental hygiene students have entered the profession through our doors and have gone on to lead rewarding and fulfilling careers. The path to receiving a degree in dental hygiene is difficult, but the rewards of the profession make the journey well worthwhile.
