Volkswagen Academy

The partnership between Chattanooga State Community College and Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations merges the world of higher education with the realities and demands of the workforce. Selected by the automotive company to manage its training center known as the Volkswagen Academy, Chattanooga State is collaborating with Volkswagen to design and implement educational programs that are specific and germane to the technologically-rich Volkswagen production environment.

Pristine and state-of-the-art, the Volkswagen Academy is a 162,000 square foot facility that blends traditional classroom and laboratory instruction with hands-on training opportunities. This educational strategy exposes individuals to critical and essential automotive manufacturing concepts and equipment with a goal of developing an exceedingly well-qualified, technologically-literate, and highly-skilled workforce.

In addition to overseeing the educational programs, Chattanooga State is also responsible for managing the daily operations of the training center as well as recruiting and hiring instructors and support personnel.   Currently, a core team of nine experts and professionals, all with extensive experience in the automotive industry, are working at the Volkswagen Academy. With a deep understanding of Volkswagen’s training methodologies and practices, the staff is also flexible and astute, poised to amend curricula and adjust training in response to the evolutionary environment associated with automotive manufacturing.

Automotive Mechatronics Program (AMP)

The Tennessee Technology Center (TTC) at Chattanooga State Community College and the Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations has collaborated to develop a premier Automotive Mechatronics Program (AMP) at the state-of-the-art Volkswagen Academy.  Discover more information about the Automotive Mechatronics program on the TTC website. 

University Transfer Program in Industrial Technology

Chattanooga State Community College and Tennessee Technological University have partnered to provide a unique educational collaborative designed to blend the very best of both institutions with the training resources available through the VW Academy.
