Personal CounselingA staff of counselors provides confidential personal counseling by appointment. If you feel confused, need help making choices, or want to change something in your life, a counselor can help. Counselors can also refer you to college and community resources such as 12-Step groups, mental health services, workshops, and support groups. Chattanooga Chats is a series of free workshops to help you get the most out of your life as a student, worker, parent, or friend. This series, sponsored by the Career Planning and Counseling Center, provides an opportunity to learn from specialists on our campus and in our community, to gain insights, and to apply new information to your life. Workshops vary from semester to semester but include topics such as:
Each year, the Career Planning and Counseling Center sponsors National Depression Screening Day, National Anxiety Screening Day, National Alcohol Screening Day. and National Eating Disorders Screening Day for the campus and community. In addition, alcohol and drug prevention activities are offered annually. Support groups are also available to the Chattanooga State community.
