INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANICS

      welder   wheels  machine

The industrial maintenance mechanic is responsible for "keeping things running" in a variety of organizations. In manufacturing plants, the job is particularly important because when machinery is "down", other employees stand idle, production falls behind schedule and the company loses profits.

An industrial maintenance mechanic must be a multi-talented person. He or she must have skills in electricity, welding, machine shop, hydraulics, pneumatics, air conditioning, general building maintenance, and even be knowledgeable in robotics installation, maintenance and repair.

The curriculum of Chattanooga State's industrial maintenance mechanics program fully prepares graduates to accept the responsibilities of the job.
