[Home] [Men's Basketball] [Women's Basketball] [Baseball] [Softball] The Chattanooga State men's basketball program is one of the premier Junior College programs in the state of Tennessee. A member of TJCCAA Region VII, the Chattanooga State Tigers find themselves in the position of competing for a Region Championship year in and year out. Under the direction of Jay Price, a seasoned veteran of the game, Tiger basketball has risen to new heights since Price took the helm in 2004. Price, a four-year guard for the Tennessee Volunteers who also competed in the professional ranks, continues to develop young men into quality athletes and quality individuals, most of which go on to star at the four-year college level. Among the many accolades for the men's basketball program includes an Eastern Division title and Price being named Coach of the Year during the 2006-2007. Chattanooga State also offers a wide variety of services and administrative personnel to assist these young men in their goal of pursuing successful basketball and college careers. Among the staff that will work directly with each athlete includes the Athletic Director and Director for Student-Athlete Success, who assists each student-athlete in scheduling of classes and advising. In addition, the Strength & Conditioning Coach, Athletic Trainer, and Director for Basketball Operations will also work one-on-one with each athlete. Because of its superior staff and winning tradition, Chattanooga State has been the recipient of the TJCCAA Region VII All-Sports Award for two consecutive years. With an annual recruitment class that rivals Junior Colleges across the nation, the men's basketball program at Chattanooga State continues to uphold its reputation as an elite institution for young men to come display their talent and passion for the game of basketball. |
