The Nursing and Allied Health General Education Courses

Acceptance into a clinical program in the Division of Nursing/Allied Health is based upon a competitive process. Many students enroll in the general education component of the clinical program in which they are interested prior to applying to the program. By so doing, a student can often enhance their standing in the competitive selection process. Students are advised that the Nursing and Allied Health programs of all public institutions within our state are currently being revised as a result of initiatives of the Tennessee Regents and Tennessee Higher Education Commission. These changes will be phased in by the fall 2007 semester. Consequently, there may be some changes in the general education core of specific programs as we address these issues. Please check with the Nursing/Allied Health Division office or the program director of the program of interest for the latest information.

Please be further advised that any transitional studies courses that are required based on college entrance assessments must be completed prior to entering any nursing and allied health program.
